My '83 900S (my second car, bought in '95, 120k miles, $1000, no probs but body rust!) apparently had a "REALLY BAD HEAD GASKET LEAK GET IT FIXED NOOOOW!!!" according to the oil-change guy. Got 40 mpg, oil stayed full for about 5000miles, no performance problems. I bought my next and current car ('87 900) from a gal who had another '84 900turbo, with over 200k miles, a leaking head gasket for 7 years, and no performance hit either. Now, I know how some stuff in an engine works, and that everybody says that a leaking head gasket is a serious, serious thing. Is it really? (or do Saabs just handle it well, or are these freak occurences?) White Flame (aka David Holz) http://fly.to/theflame
