Why don't you all just put a large piece of tape over your entire dashboard. That way you won't be distracted by other silly things like the speedometer, odometer, radio, climate controls..... I have a better idea. Just ignore the shift-up light altogether. I am sure you'll forget about it in the next few weeks. Think of it as a bonus feature when you are almost out of gas on a dark country road in a thunderstorm and are trying to get the last few meters out of your tank before you have to get out and push...
