Dear Eric,
Thanks to the reply to my recent posting about ignition advance.
In relation to your problem with hesitation I also have the same thing - I
think unless yours is realy bad that its just the nature of the LH fuel
system ie a slight delay between opening the throttle, the mass meter
responding to the air and the system delivering fuel. I certainly noticed
it when moving from my old T8 with mechanical fuel injection and my
present T16 with the same system as yours. I just adapted my driving style
to anticipate the delay.
Other things to check - is there hesitation between on and off boost ie
just before the boost comes on - if so it could be the vacuum advance /
retard not reacting fast enough. I partly solved my hesitation by fitting
an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and set the press at 2.8 bar instead
of the standard 2.5 this seems to give the engine a bit more fuel and
generaly smooth things out ( I have not noticed any increase in fuel
consumption).
One last thing (or two) dirty injectors? and plug gap should be .6mm. and
cometo think of it I have heard (in this very news group) that Bosch
platinum don't work well in Turbo Saabs - one to investigate further.
John
