NO damage at all! I ran 20W-50 in my '82 900T, '91 900S Convertible, and '94 900SE V-6 in the summer when I lived in the Albuquerque and the Mojave Desert, but switched to 10W-40 in the winter. I still have the '82, but use 10W-40 all year in Seattle. You _might_ have a little more trouble on a cold start with 20W-50 on a cold day, but once it warms up, there's no problem running it through the turbine bearings. I prefer to use synthetic oil in the turbo because of the higher temps (especially in the old 8-valve engines, where the turbine bearings are not water cooled), but used Castrol 20W-50 occasionally in the past. --------------------- John R.
