Subject: ABS pump failure - help needed

The electric pump which pressurises the ABS system has stopped running on my 1991 9000 2.3 Turbo (No traction control). There is power to the pump, and it draws just enough current to blow the 30A fuse after about a minute. Saab say that the whole hydraulic unit - pump, master cylinders, high and low pressure reserviors, solenoid valves etc. - must be replaced as a unit. This seems ridiculous (and very expensive) for something which could be as simple as a dirty commutator in the motor. Does anyone have experience of removing/repairing/renewing the pump motor on its own ? Regards, Mike Bloor
