I'm trading in a 96 900S (2.3) for a 99 323 w/sport. The SAAB has been
reliable except for: A/C compressor (2000km), and an alternator (40000km).
You're right the SAAB doesn't hold its value, but I admire it's quirkiness.
On the other hand, I am not fond of FWD understeer. The SAAB's handling is
still good, except for the pronounced body lean.  Test drive the BMW with and
without a sportspackage, and judge for yourself. These are two very different
