Hi Elan > I don't really know too much about the 9-3, but if it's anything like my 1998 9-5, I would say go for the BMW, or stay with your 900, even though it is front heavy and ploughs through corners. I've had many Saabs for over 20 years, 99's, 900's, and my 1998 9-5SE is the worst one I have had. The steering wheel controls are awkward and can't be used without taking a hand off the wheel, the steering clunks when turning left, the SID is difficult to programme and keeps forgetting settings and giving false readings for fuel consumption, the quality control was very poor: fog lamp fell off inside a month, first time I went to use the cigarette lighter the whole assembly came out in my hand, the power seats kept forgetting all the memorised positions, it's got a stupid small spare wheel with 80kmph limit- useless in Oz, the turn indicators are on the wrong side (not converted for RHD) and I could go on and on. The car is not yet due for it's first 15000km service and the alarm system has failed and I have already blown two headlamps at $50 each. The SID told me 2 moths ago I had to put it in for service -wrong! Apart from that, the car is fine..... Enough for you? I think Saab boo-boo'ed with this series.
