Subject: Re: Looking for a 9000T

I recently bought an '88 9000 Turbo (automatic) in the Seattle area for $3,600. It has about 125,000 miles on it (of which I've put about 5,000). The previous owners were very meticulous in keeping records of all the repairs and it makes for some pretty horrific reading. It got a new transmission under warranty at about 25,000 miles. New turbocharger at about 100,000 and the previous owner had a new a/c compressor installed about two weeks before I bought it. So, I'm hoping that most of the expensive stuff is out of the way for a while. That said, the car is a delight to drive. We didn't have much snow this winter, but a couple of trips through mountain passes during poor weather proved it to be quite capable in the snow, even with fairly high performance all-season tires. I don't know if mine is getting tired, but the 0-60 times are about the same as I got with an 86 Honda Accord Lxi automatic. But the Saab certainly is more entertaining to drive and will probably be a lot safer should somebody ever hit me. I get about 20 mpg in short-commuting and 30 +/- on a long trip (with lots of cops around). Good luck.
