Not particular about the 88 model but check: convertible roof cloth for scrubbing aeras (new top is expensive) front windscreen black foil on top often damaged by the conv. top sealing (youīve got to take out the front windscreen to change the foil...) engine: idling and stalling problems after full power (AIC, vakuum leaks) engine/transm. for oil leaks (as common...), and check valve cover sealing right above exhaust bend (or smell it..? during driving) check transmission 2-3 and 5th gear well when thereīs an aircondition installed check function if thereīs a leaking problem itīs difficult to find... Thatīs it donīt take the auto transm. and there should be no further things.... Be sure itīs well maintained and serviced and itīll be a great car! milage: 100k miles ?? Iīd take it if itīs below...
