They will last forever given reasonable treatment of them. The automatics are another story, and generally won't last beyond 200,000 miles. There are some exceptions, notably on non-turbo cars but don't *expect* it 'cause it ain't likely. Major things to check on are motor mounts, air conditioning system, anti-lock brakes ('88+), and the heater core. These are all expensive, hard-to-fix systems that tend to go bad on '86 to '90 9000s when they start climbing above 100k miles. Good luck, -Justin
