Jim... I tried once to find the gear to no avail, it is pressed on the assembly it sits in. You can separate it from the motor and thus swapping in a good gear assembly from a bad motor. You can pick up a motor at a salvage yard for $75 to $100 dollars (that is what I paid from Swedish/British in Atlanta 3 years ago), some even cheaper.
