Maybe you should have a look at the Feb '99 issue of Road and Track. The 328i smashes every car in the comparo. Though tied for last in horsepower, 328i opened a big can of whipass on the 9-3 in handling and acceleration and posted the best track times of the bunch. sorry to break the news to you.
