That particular light is an oil pressure warning - it's a *very* bad idea to drive the car with that on unless you're _sure_ there is sufficient oil pressure. Possible causes - knackered / broken oil pump (truly lacking oil pressure), pressure switch failiure (pressure could be ok), low oil level, some form of blockage in the oil system.
