Subject: Burnt Valves question



Hello all,

This past weekend my '88 SPG started displaying a huge loss of power in the
engine. I took it to my normal Saab mechanic and he diagnosed it as burnt
valves. He took off the head and confirmed that I had burnt 2 exhaust
valves.

My questions are, how much is should this run me to fix, and what caused it
to happen in the first place?
