Subject: Sex & Cars; was Saabs are little bitch cars

I think you're seeing people a very 2-dimensional - like bad characters in movies. People are contridictions, sure there're are some people who "must have the best", "must get the best deal", "must be the first"; but most people are quirky. For instance, on my new 323i I _really_ wanted to remove all bmw exterior badging; but the hood & trunk rondels are recesed - it would look bad. Without badging, most would thing the 323 is a strange Honda. As for the willingness to pay overpriced yada yada - man, make more money, bmws aren't THAT expensive. But good stuff isn't cheap. In my mind the car is a tool, [and bmw is] one of the best for the job. Years ago I fell in love with the 2002 when they still had round taillights [a friends girfriends parents had 2 his & hers, they were transplanted Germans]. They were pricy, but provided superior performance while remaining a sensible sedan, this is what attracted 'yuppies' before they were called that. Young people with money. 25 years later the cars still refine & yes define the sports sedan, for young people with money.
