Generally these bloody cupholders are the pain in arse for all car manufactures outside USA. Americans are the only people in this universe who want to have cupholders to their cars. That is the reason why cupholders in non-US-made cars are often so crappy because normally in any other country cupholders are not wanted to cars and are not usually available even as an option -so these cupholders have to be artificially fitted to instrument panels (or somewhere else) as an "afterward design".
