Edmund Blackadder <fredrik.israelssonnopsam.se> a écrit dans le message : EEfU2.15368$x43.29204nopsamserver.swip.net... > So, in YOUR opinion, a crashtest between a Chevrolet Corvair and any other > car from that time with FWD and normal handling could very well prove the > Corvair to be a safer car? If you don't care how you car will handle collisions in real-world, God bless you ......... 2- I never said that safety does not include the roadhandling of a vehicle: it is crucial to examine that aspect as well : braking , grip and , in general, accident avoidance equipment such as ABS are extremely important. However, Saab is not exceptionnal either: the grip can be easily mesured and if you read american magazines, you'll see that in general the maximum grip of Saab in a turn is in general much lower than a BMW or a Volvo for example. In the April 99 issue of Car and Driver, the 9-3 185hp grip with 0.78g on a 300foot skidpad where the Audi A4 1.8t gets 0.83g ( substantially better) or the VW Jetta ( your Bora ) gets 0.80g -------->average showings again for the 9-3 . Maybe you 'd like to check the braking distance of the 9-3 ? 193 feet from 70-0 mph vs 179 feet for the Jetta , 191 feet for the Audi -------> 9-3 is not better than the others right ? Saab doesn't have the stability system that Volvo, Benz or BMW have, so I don't think Saab is better than others there either. I think that Saab are interesting looking cars that are refreshingly distinctive from that the rest of the crowd, but anyone that buy a Saab for safety reasons obviously hasn't done his/her homework , sorry.
