We've been really happy with our '96 900 S. Bought nearly 2 years ago with 43K miles on the clock, now up to 70K. Reliability has been quite good, one trip under warranty for a replacement wiper motor and one trip for a bad vacuum line that was causing a Check Engine light ($80) Performance has been good, it certainly can get out of its own way. Low end torque will be better than your '85 but is not as good as my Saturn SL2 (which is exceptional-it starts in third without complaining). Handling is great at speed, steering feel is excellent in the twisties, but the car can feel wallowy in sharp, low-speed turns. Cargo capacity rules, but you knew that. I'd try to get a '96 with 8-12 K miles left on the 50K mile warranty. -C -- **** Note our new e-mail addresses **** This message was sent by either: Chris Thurrott - wodin at worldnet.att.com **OR** Kris D'Anci - lokki at worldnet.att.com ---------- In article <7gh2m5$rgj$1nopsami.lava.net>, wormwoodnopsam.net (Brandon B.
