Subject: Re: Nokia Hands Free Car Kit & 9-3 Convertible

I bought the Nokia hands free car kit for my 6190, expecting to connct it to the built-in Mic and have audio piped throuh the stereo; only to find that the microphone is not installed in the headliner, nor is the harness that brings it to the phone connector behind the center console. Niether is there wires in that harness for the audio out signal into the stereo! What a disappointment! Here is what i did: I took apart the microhone that comes with the Nokia kit, and with a bit of filing and shaping, mounted it securely to the molded clips in the headliner mic bezel; you cannot tell it is there. I snaked the micorohone cable along the front of the headliner, down behind the A-pillar covers (these just snap off), and inder the dash to the center console area. I mounted the Nokia interface box there behind the radio/Climate Control head using a foam wrap and tyraps. I pulled out that useless rectangular cubby in the center console, took apart the Nokia speaker (toss the back cover, saving just the speaker/bezel) and mounted it to the cubby box.I snaked the cable to the interface box as well. The speaker looks cool mounted flus to the front of that box and covers the non-square opening perfectly. Even though the built in mic and stereo output are missing, there is still wires for the radio mute, power, switched power. The whole thing works fine, the Nokia mic is very good. I am finally not pissed at Saab over this. pg Jonathen Clark wrote in message <372723a6nopsamch.nildram.co.uk>... >Are there any known problems with the nokia 6110 h/f carkit, using the built >in mic and stereo speakers when the power amp stereo upgrade has been >installed ? > >Thanks in advance > >J C - jcnopsamet.co.uk > >
