Sam F. The Oct. 1998 Motor Trend and the April 1996 Popular Mechanics, confirms what your friend told you. I use the regular Prestone Antifreeze (Yellow Bottle) mixed with distilled water 50/50. I flush mine about once a year. In fact mine is due now. The 50/50 mix provides the best combination of heat absorption and freezing/boiling protection, according to Motor Trend. It beats me why some people want to spend more money to keep degraded coolant and increased contaminants in their engines longer. It just doesn't make sense to me.
