Subject: Broken Timing Chain in '85 Saab 900S, 8V

Hi, The timing chain just broke. The car has 350,000 miles on it so I'm not complaining. I'm just wondering what kind of damage can result from this. Could the valves have been bent? Pistons holed? Can/should the initial diagnosis of the damage be done without removing the head? Maybe by doing a leakdown test? What would be a fair price if no valves are bent? If some are bent? Thanks for any info. Andrew
