Subject: Re: Battery in '89 Saab turbo

Debra - I too recently purchased an 89 900 Turbo from a friend. My third Saab and it is the greatest! There is a heat shield for the battery that should be in place. Perhaps yours is missing. Unfortunately, the dealer here in Dallas who cares more about selling whitewall-tired Fords and sport brutality vehicles charged over $100 for this bent piece of sheet metal. Best to get one from a junk yard for $5 if you can find one in good condition. Sometimes the used ones will be pretty rusty so if you want to order a new one I suggest Camelback Saab in Phoenix because they will sell wholesale to out of state customers.
