Sometimes just changing your oils gives the gears back. Some mechanics use this at their advantage. They change the oil and you pay big dollars for the repair. If you have extra time and you need a hobby, why don´t you take an automatic transmissions as a hobby. There will be many interesting things to learn and experience. Parts (except the turbine) shouldn´t be too expensive (I think that usually just changing the gaskets is enough) and when you do it yourself you don´t have to pay for the labor. And in time you will have your Saab back on the road again. Roy
