Try checking the fuel accumulator. I am currently replacing my fuel pump. You can get a generic Delco unit at Trakauto for $150, personally I am putting the factory replacement at $300. The fuel accumulator should be about $150 or less. Another hint - get a copy of the shop manual (4 volumes, volume 2 is engine and fuel system).
