Scot, concerning the noise when the air-conditioning turns on and off. When the magnetic cluth is engaged it is normal with a clicking noise. If the noise is getting louder and louder I would guess that something is wrong. A good way of repeating the noise is to be parked in some +20 °C ambient and pressing the 'econ' button several times. Econ means no AC (copressor off). When the AC is engaged the load on the motor increases dramaticlly and the engine management system will rise the engine rpm (a very good engine management system would do this compensation unnoticable). The reason for this on and off is that the system pressure (or the evaporator temperature) is to high (low) and the built in pressure (temperature) sensors will make the compressor to disengage until pressure/temperature is back to the lower level. The 9-5 has a more sophisticated compressor with a variable displacement, hence no cluth needed! Regards Anders
