I also own a '94 900S V6 with 81,500 miles, and have not had any problems. The only "non-maintenance" issue, which is arguable, I had to replace the right wheel bearing at 56,500 miles. Other than that, nothing but oil changes and normal maintenance. I have heard over and over about how bad the '94 900 is, mostly on this newsgroup. However, I have asked repeatedly for proof, and not had anyone back up this claim with real results. Everyone seems to be repeating the same story over and over, "I heard they were bad". Yes, there were minor problems with the 4 turbo. But, as far as I know they were all minor issues. And everyone dumps on the V6, but I drove both and prefer the V6. Just to be fair I drove the 4 non-turbo and would never buy that engine. Too small for a car the size/weight of the 900.
