My parents live 300 miles away here in the northeastern United States, and when my fianceé and I make the trip in the summer, it's pretty much a necessity to have drinks at hand. This was especially true when we made the trip today... ambient air temps of 95°F, with "heat indexes" of well over 115°F when you account for the humidity. The dashboard cupholder on my 9-5 is in the perfect location. I love the folding design. But it won't hold a normal (USA) 16 oz. bottle of soda, and it certainly won't hold anything larger than a "medium" soda from a fast-food restaurant. It won't hold a sport drink like Gatorade, either. There's a second "afterthought" cupholder in the center console, under the armrest, but it's hard to reach and renders the armrest unusable. It will, however, hold larger drinks. If the dash cupholder were just a liiitle bit bigger, and there were another one on the passenger side, it would be wonderful. By the way... after four days in my parents' house without air conditioning, a five hour trip with dual-zone climate control and ventilated seats was VERY pleasant. :) Rob 1999 9-5 SE V6 -- Rob Levandowski roblnopsamhiz.com
