Unless you feel you absolutely need the cage, you can easily just use the mounting brackets that come with the changer (I'll presume you didn't get it at a dealership, otherwise they'd have it). I'm an aggressive driver (also with the V6) and I also use my trunk A LOT (carry bikes, camping gear, lawnchairs, chainsaws, moving friends to new homes, just about anything...) and have never had a problem with the changer being hit or damaged. I wouldn't worry about it and save the money. If you do need the mounting brackets, try a car audio place - it's a Clarion CD unit, and the mounting kit is available separately.
