Subject: Restting the 9-3 SID Service Messages

Folks, I recently had the "Service Anti-Theft System" message come on my SID. Fine, I thought, I'll get it checked. While waiting for my appointment, I don't think I need to keep being reminded. But I discovered that the message will keep coming on every time I start the car until I hit "clear." The manual (yes, I read it) states that you can remove the message by a quick procedure that involves pressing and holding "clear" for 8 seconds, etc. No luck. My car still "nags" me every time I start it up. What's the secret to turning off the warning? I can't wait to see what happens next time the car senses a problem and I can't get it serviced for a few weeks. It's not a major issue, but it's pretty annoying. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you, Michael
