Customer > service? > I've been driving a 1987 Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S the past three years. It has 187000 miles on it and it's a great all-around car. If you don't know it, it's a two door liftback with the small but powerful engine that came in the first generation mr2. Toyota only made them for two years, 87&88. They were a test to see how good a product they could produce on American soil. It was the first Toyota built in America. The FX16 is kinda rare but a great car and a great value. -The tranny is great. I have a stock 5-speed with nice short throws. -The power is pheonominal, especially above 4500rpm (7500rpm redline). -It handles great. 4 wheel-disc. Front & rear multilink independant suspension. -I average 28-31 mpg and I drive my car enthusiasticly. -Very comfortable interior. Even though its a two door and looks small, my 6' tall friends actually like sitting in the back!! Great cloth bucket seats. Leather shift knob and steering wheel on the GT-S. -The design is sharp and crisp, a good paint job on it will turn heads. It may look odd at first, but the look grows on you. -Fun Value=A+++++ You couldn't have any more fun in a such a small package. -Maintainance is kinda tough since Toyota crammed everything into the car, but since it's a Toyota it won't need heavy repairs or maintanance. -Resale value: Once you drive this car to it's full potential you won't want to sell it. -Customer Service: Toyota has always been good to me, but that depends on the dealership. I don't know how much more I can praise this car. You can find a good one for about $1500 to $2000. There is a basic Corolla FX, but other than the body, it's nothing like the FX16. I've let many of my friends drive the car and they love it. I've had some offers to sell but I won't part with the car. Okay, so you get the point that its a fun car, but it's also great on gas, comfy, and can carry a lot. The rear seats fold down to create almost mini-van size. Well, I've said enough.
