We are having similar intermittent problems with a '91 9000S (auto), particularly in the hot weather. Just before a start failure, one can hear the fuel pump run continuously, apparently without presurizing the injector manifold. This leads me to suspect a glitch in the fuel pressure regulator which dumps fuel back into the tank, thereby setting up either a vapor-lock or inadequate pressure for the injectors. The dealer will look at the car next week, and said it can also be a glitch in the ICM. The computer may record error codes for intermittent problems. We shall see.
