Hi, I'll assume that your car is somewhere between MY1981 and MY1983, i.e. Girling fronts. The cable outer is held in place by a circlip which is flush with the rear side of the yoke. Very hard to see this when you have lots of rust and road dirt. Use a wire brush to clean and expose circlip, then remove it. There is no thread - just a tight fit made tighter by accumulated rust. Then use lots of rust remover oil (careful to not spread the oil onto other parts). You may need to use force to drive the end of the cable outer back through the yoke - careful not to mash the handbrake cable. Needs patience. Email me (remove "NOSPAM" from return address) if you need to know more. I've done this twice during the past 3 years. // Robert Paddy Howard wrote: > I am trying to remove the front handbrake cable from the disc calipers > on the front wheel of my 900GLS.
