Subject: Help...removing handbrake cable from caliper on 1984 900GLS

I am trying to remove the front handbrake cable from the disc calipers on the front wheel of my 900GLS. I wish to swing the caliper out of the way so work on the outer CV joint. Does anyone know how the cable sheath is attached to the caliper? i.e is the hole in the caliper, that the cable sheath passes thru threaded or is the cable held in place by a lock nut on the cable-nipple side if the caliper? or what ? My Haynes manual has no reference to this and cable-caliper joint is rusted badly.... All useful input greatfully received! -- Paddy Howard Peterborough UK
