I have a 1991 Saab 900S, 2.1L with 98K miles. I have been experiencing an "acceleration hesitation" most noticed in 2nd thru 4th gears at 2200-2500 rpm. It happens most often at stage 3 (see below). It will also hesitate (or 'hiccup') in 5th gear at highway speeds (initially, at stage 1, then disappears) but the rpm's are in the 2200-2500 range. Stage 1: Start car in a.m., drive 10-20 miles, shut it off. Stage 2: Let car sit for minutes/hours. Stage 3: Start car and drive. (Most noticable here.) The best description is the acceleration seems to "freeze" then "break through". (It idles smoothly when I have it in neutral.) I have had the 90K mile service, fuel filter changed, and the injectors cleaned and the problem persists (it was noticed before the service, too.) I have also changed the ignition wires. I have spoken to 2 Saab dealers and 1 local mechanic and the answer is basically the same, "Unknown cause, unknown cure." Does anyone have any suggestions for solving this hesitation problem? PLEASE HELP! Thank you. tom159nopsamcape.net -- Posted via Talkway - http://www.talkway.com Exchange ideas on practically anything (tm).
