Subject: Re: Engine Noise/Power on 9-3

Hi Michael, I have a 9-3 2.0t 154hp (LPT Ecopower) with ACC feature. Since I bought it, I made some experiments on ACC with putting it in AUTO, OFF and ECON mode. I didn't notice any odd sound from ACC or engine, and it seemed that ACC did not affect performance. AC can affect performance of underpowered cars, but the Saab turbo models, either LPT or FPT, have enough power not to be sensitive to AC. Of course the mileage may be affected when AC is on, but I didn't notice something significant, maybe 0.5 l/100km. Since my car has an average mileage of 9 l/100km, AC mileage effect can be considered as neglectable (+/- 0.5%). Sorry, but I cannot help you for the problem you have. Regards, Luc 1999 9-3S 2.0t 154hp Auto "Saabine"
