Clive, If I were you, I'd go with new CV's. If you put used shafts in, you may just end up putting "someone else'e problems" into your car. As far as CV replacement goes, the 900 is about average, or perhaps a little easier than average. Only special tool you should need is a really large wrench (and some muscle!) to remove the axle nuts. Best bet may be to get a repair manual, read up on the job, then decide if you're up to it. Incidentally, the job of replacing the complete axle is not significantly easier. The CV is held to the end of the axle with a snap-ring, which is easy to release with a couple of screwdrivers once you find it under all the grease!
