I too have a dud Auto trans and have been quoted up to $2500 (Australian) to have it reconditioned. The other alternative is a second hand transmission which will set me back $1200 + $400 fitting. I know there are several wrecking yards around mainland USA so depending on where you are you might think about this as an option. Another option is to sell the car to someone who wants to rebuild the transmission -- I imagine it would be hard for you to sell the car to the average car buyer with a broken trans. You might also try "the saab Network" (can't remember their URL ) as they have a whole lot of good stuff on sourcing parts etc Good luck Mike WafaQattam wrote in message <19990802233107.10614.00005170nopsamb1.aol.com>... >I just called AAMCO to ask for an extimate on rebuilding my 1988t trans . . . >they quoted me about $3800.
