Subject: SAAB vs BMW

I am in the market for a convertible that is 'highway worthy', has a back seat and is fun to drive. That seems to limit the options to SAAB and BMW. I am looking to spend between 10K-15K and want a car that is mechanically sound (don't want constant repairs) and looks good (i.e. clean and good paint/body). I test drove a few SAABs: a 92 turbo (5spd) with 58K (asking price = $11K from a SAAB dealer), a 93 auto with 69K (private asking $12.5K) and a 88 turbo (5spd) with 100K (private asking $6.5K). Loved the feel of the cars (especially the turbos) but worried about dependability. Haven't driven any of the BMW 325's yet but plan to. Would love to hear from everyone on the differences between the SAAB and BMW logos as well as insights on dependability, quality and maintenance costs. Never owned either brand and need your expert help. Thanks in advance.
