Yeh, I've got one of these, same year same model. Mileage isn't important really and the turbo lasts forever. Check, gearbox for noise, this is the older gearbox with the horrid change andth lever shouldn't be floppy or be missing the reverse stop. Also check for ticking from the top of the engine, light ticking is injectors on high mileage jobs, heavier is the hydraulitappets (head off job to replace). Cruise control should work, check for water in th eoil and vice versa as head gaskets can go on these cars (mine did spectacularly at 145mph! Everything else is pretty much bombproof and should last 200K-I've seen one locally with 323K on it-never even had the head off. Good luck Keith surfsofa wrote: > Can anyone give me any tips on things to check when buying one of > these? > > It's a high mileage example - 135K (sounds a lot to me anyway). > > What should I check? > > Thanks. > > Simon Tompson
