My 98 9000CSE had the same problem. The battery would drain in 1 week if I don't drive it. It happened 3 times in the first 6 months I owned the car. Finally discovered that the trunk light would sometimes be on even though the trunk was closed. Probably due to a tolerance problem in the way the switch was mounted. I took the car to the dealer but they said there is nothing wrong. I decided to turn the trunk light to off, and never had this problem happen again.
