JS, If you use Berryman's B-12 Spray Carb and Choke Cleaner, an old toothbrush and and old T-shirt you should be in good shape. That is how I clean the throttle body on my 87 9000S. Do Not Use Gumout Carb and Choke Cleaner. The fine print on the can says it is not for fuel injected cars. Once you have cleaned the throttle body, your car will be hard to start the first time. Then you should be okay. You may also want to check all hoses on the throttle body for vaccum leaks and any valves coming from the valve cover. I recently cleaned the valve that has two hoses going to the throttle body. Unclogging the valve helped my engine run cooler. Putting clamps on the the 1/2 hoses from the valve cover to the throttle body and from the AIC to the throttle body sure made a major difference.
