Subject: Re: Engine noise on startup

I had the same problem with a 900t16 89. The 16v engine is equipped with hydraulic valve pressurizers or what ever its called in english. Anyway its a selfadjusting thing between the camshaft and the valve. The pinging sound comes from this great invention because of oil leaking out of it when engine is turned off, but when the oil comes back the sound stops. I replaced the "worn" parts in my saab, but a expert told me that its nothing to bother, cause its harmless for the engine. This is a pretty normal thing and almost all saabs have more or less of this noise, but i just had to do something about it in my case.. /Johan Jan Kannemacher skrev i meddelandet <37B96A23.8456ED3Enopsamk.de>... >surfsofa wrote: > >> Did a long motorway journey the other day.
