Subject: Drive-shaft lengths

1989 Saab 900 Turbo: I asked for help yesterday about the problem I have with the inner universal joint coming out of the coupling it goes into. I received two very helpful replies suggesting that the problem might rest in the drive-shaft being too short and that a longer drive-shaft is likely to solve the problem. The problem is though, how can I tell whether I have a short drive-shaft or one of the longer drive-shafts? I have contacted my local Saab dealer who was clueless on the question. Does anyone have the lengths of the long and short drive-shafts? The one I have fitted to the right-hand side of my car is exactly 20 inches (or 508 mm). Help on this one would be greatly appreciated. Alan.
