I agree with you on that, and I believe there is a statistic posted somewhere as to how many fewer accidents there could be if everyone left their lights on during that day. However, I don't feel any of this has anything to do with sitting in a parking lot waiting for someone, or pulling up to a group of people, where I wish to skip the "blind the bystanders" procedure.
