In article <37c4cb8b.262537nopsam.pacbell.net>, jazepedanopsamell.net says... > >No car company has a perfect record, but look how they dealt with it > >compared to the American auto manufacturers. > > From what I read in the newspaper, they tried to do nothing until some > guy had his art collection burn down with his house because of his > 9000. This was front page news a few years ago in the San Francisco > Chronicle. Ya... His collection of... umm... PICASSO's and MONET's I'm sure as well as a used 9000. I remember a "Simpsons" episode when Homer's house burnt down and the insurance man is asking him what he lost and he started naming famous painters and the man was like, "We only cover actual losses"... Sounds a little fishy, that's all :) But I'm glad I keep my 9000 in a garage seperated from the house! > Saab. Besides, IIRC it was the American auto industry that developed > the first series of crash test dummys, no? Yes, but foreign companies like Mercedes and BMW and VW were crash- testing with real people WAY before American companies started to. > >it was an automatic. Nothing about it impressed me in the least, and > >the doors do not have the same weight behind them, and they are not air > >tight like a Saab. Oh, come on... An all-plastic interior? HOW can you deny the quality?! > Instant underside of the legs tan ;) I have tint/sun film on my windows and even in the middle of this summer I never found myself cooking from the seats... As for legs burned I always wear slacks or at least not short-shorts so my legs never actually touch direcly to the seats. > I have a hard time believing that they could really get much worse > style or quality wise. The late 80s Jags were so disgusting (IMO) They were CLASSY... And a classic look I might add. In an age where everything has been rounded to the point that you could put wings on it and foreign countries' RADAR systems couldn't pick you up, it's nice to see some solid lines and old school styling. I saw a newer Jag (XJ8 I believe) and it looked like a new MUSTANG. Real classy *eye roll*. I'm done now :) [NOTE: The majority of this post is a joke, I'm feeling feisty today - don't get bent because I don't care]
