Folks, The real reason that the upshift light is there at all is the Goverment. Tests have shown that by following the upshift light you can get a couple of more mpg on average than not following this. Therefore by installing it, SAAB (and everyone else using upshift lights) can raise its CAFE numbers and avoid the wrath of the Feds.
