When starting cold the chain ratlles and the noise slowly disappears when engine is getting warmer. At normal temperature there is no noise. I've changed hydraulic tappets, no help. One morning the noise did not come at all and it stayed away for half a year. Nowadays it has developed again the same noise but not so loud yet. I'm pretty sure that the chain tensioner don't push hard enough the chain follower and chain is slighly loose when cold. And when tensioner goes one step further the noise disappears. I have not yet tried with a new tensioner. I don't know why temperature changes the noise. I would imagine that the chain is more loose when hot. Or does the cylinder block expand slighly when hot???
