Recently, as I paid for some miscellaneous staying-on-top-of-it stuff, my= mechanic told me that the noise he heard from my transmission signaled = that the day was at hand when I would have to bring it in for that thing = everyone warned me about when I bought my Saab. I have no problems with = him, and what he is saying was not dissimilar to what another mechanic = had said a few thousand miles ago. So, I am inclined to take it into him soon, once I get the money. How = long can I wait? Do the symptoms come on gradually, or am I risking = car-death every day? At present the only symptom seems to be a small = sound when the car is in neutral, and the clutch pedal is released. When= the pedal is pushed in, the noise goes away. Any thoughts? I have been doing a number of things right (not resting my hand on the = shift, puasing a fraction of a second in between gears) and one thing = wrong (I sometimes get frustrated with So. Cal. traffic and shift into = first when the car is at 2 or 3 mph.) jl 89 Saab Turbo Convertible 150k
