Neither a volvo or a saab will be as reliable/inexpensive to maintain. If you want a tank, buy a volvo - the wagons can haul a ton of stuff to/from school. I had a saab and a volvo 240 dl. Felt at least as in control in the saab if not more. The volvo has got to be heavier, but the saab was not less solid feeling on the road. If you want a fun, unique looking car - buy a saab. I loved my 900 and sometimes wish I still had it. The hatchback can haul quite a bit with the seat down. Another thing I loved about my saab was how comfortable it was on long trips. Don't know about going to see one where you are though. www.saabs.com has lots of exterior pics. -- Jeff.
