Why 'do' we see so many requests for independent mechanics with this group? I am beginning to think that SAAB may not have a handle or at least a needs firmer grip on their dealers/service departments here in the states. It has sunk more than one 'foreign' brand in the states (Renault and British Leyland come to mind). Are they so desperate for dealers that the dealer runs the show? Though I bought mine two weeks ago (91 900S---only 86K) from a private dealer, I took it to a dealer for an inspection and it got a clean bill of health from a SAAB dealer. I am beginning to wonder if the owner and the dealer were in cahoots (because he spent so much money there?)...Nonetheless, I am looking at at $1,000--$1,500 of repairs for things they should not have missed?! And they expect me to go there for service!? Hello?! Michael Please direct e-mail to both of the following addresses : mitchvisnopsame-link.com mitchvisnopsamnet Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.
